Communities on the lake’s shores include Montreal Lake, Timber Bay, and Molanosa.
Montreal Lake Cree Nation: This is a distinct First Nation of Woodland Cree people in northern Saskatchewan. The administrative center of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation is located in the community of Montreal Lake, situated on the aforementioned lake.
